How much does pet cremation cost in Wahroonga?

Private pet cremation in Wahroonga starts from $540 with our Private Farewell package, which returns your pet’s ashes in a scatter tube. If you would like an urn and keepsakes, The Gesture is $790 with an urn and fur keepsake, The Memory is $890 with an urn, framed paw print and daily keepsake, and The Legacy is $1,190 with an urn, 2 keepsakes and a premium keepsake.

Every package includes collection from your Wahroonga home or vet, an individual private cremation, a Certificate of Cremation and hand delivery of the ashes within 10 business days. How much does it cost to cremate a dog in Wahroonga?

Dog cremation in Wahroonga costs the same as cremation for any other pet, starting from $540 for a private cremation with ashes returned in a scatter tube, or $790 to $1,190 with an urn and keepsakes. Small, medium and large dogs cost the same up to 50kg.

For large breeds over 50kg, including Great Danes, Mastiffs and some Rottweilers, a 20% surcharge applies to the package price. Dogs are accepted up to 100kg. Pickup from your Wahroonga home or vet is included, and your dog is cremated alone, never with other animals.

How much is cat cremation in Wahroonga?

Cat cremation in Wahroonga starts from $540. This includes collection from your home or vet, a private individual cremation, a Certificate of Cremation and your cat’s ashes returned within 10 business days. Families choosing an urn for a cat commonly select The Gesture ($790) or The Memory ($890), which include a fur keepsake or framed paw print.

Cats almost always fit our smallest urn size, up to 5kg, so there is no size surcharge. We collect cats from homes and veterinary clinics throughout Wahroonga and the surrounding suburbs, using the same process as for dogs.

Are there any additional fees?

Your chosen package includes everything, including pickup and return of the ashes. There are only 3 extra charges, and we will explain them before you confirm a booking:

After-hours fee (Monday to Friday, before 9am or after 5pm): +$165
Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and public holidays: +$250
Pets over 50kg: a 20% surcharge on the package price

If you book an after-hours collection, we may not be able to come until the next day, depending on which drivers are available in the Wahroonga area. Either way, our team will contact you to confirm a pickup time, so you won’t be left waiting without knowing when we’ll arrive.

What should I do if my pet dies at home?

Take a moment before doing anything. There is no need to hurry. When ready, place your dog or cat on their side on a towel or blanket, gently close their eyes and position their legs naturally in a curled position. Do this within the first couple of hours, before stiffness begins. Put an old towel underneath because some fluid release is normal, and keep them cool and out of direct sunlight.

Then book online or call us on 0489 271 267. In Wahroonga we collect from your home within 24 hours, and same day if you book before 2pm on a business day. If other pets in the house want to sniff or sit with them before pickup, that’s fine and can help them understand.

How quickly can you collect my pet in Wahroonga?

We guarantee collection anywhere in Wahroonga and the surrounding suburbs within 24 hours of confirming your booking. Book before 2pm on a business day and we can usually collect the same day during business hours at no extra cost. Bookings after 2pm are arranged for the next available collection.

A notification arrives 30 minutes before our driver gets there. Your pet travels in a van prepared with flowers, greenery and a soft bed. After-hours or weekend pickups attract the fees listed above, and we will call to confirm the time.

Can you pick up my dog or cat from a vet in Wahroonga?

Yes. Many Wahroonga families say goodbye at the vet, and we collect from any veterinary clinic in Wahroonga and surrounding suburbs, including Cherrybrook, Turramurra, Hornsby, Pymble, St Ives, Pennant Hills, and Gordon.

Provide the clinic name when booking and we will organise collection directly with the vet, so you do not have to transport your pet. Vet collection is included in every package at no extra cost, and your pet receives a tracking tag as soon as they come into our care.

Do you offer cremation for all pets in Wahroonga?

We cremate domestic pets from Wahroonga homes and vets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, ferrets, reptiles and other small animals. Pets are accepted up to 100kg. We cannot cremate horses or other livestock.

Every pet gets the same private cremation, the same tracking and the same Certificate of Cremation, whatever their size. The price is the same for a dog, cat, rabbit or bird, with a 20% surcharge only for pets over 50kg. If you’re unsure whether we can help with your pet, call us on 0489 271 267 and we’ll talk it through.

Can you cremate a rabbit, guinea pig or bird from Wahroonga?

We provide small animal cremation across Wahroonga. Rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, rats, mice and lizards are each cremated alone in a single chamber, so only your pet’s ashes are returned.

Small pets produce less ash, so many families select a small urn from The Gesture or The Memory collection, or a keepsake for the home. Collection from your home or vet works just as it does for dogs and cats, with prices starting from the same $540.

Is there a size limit for large dog cremation in Wahroonga?

Pets are accepted up to 100kg, covering almost every dog breed. Large breeds up to 50kg receive the standard package price. Between 50kg and 100kg, a 20% surcharge is added to the package price for the additional handling and cremation time.

Our drivers move large dogs gently from homes or clinics in Wahroonga. Tell us your dog’s approximate weight when booking so we can prepare for collection and quote any surcharge upfront.

How soon will I get my pet’s ashes back?

Your pet’s ashes are returned within 10 business days, well ahead of the 3-week industry average. We hand-deliver them to your Wahroonga home in the urn or scatter tube you selected, along with any keepsakes, their tracking ID and Certificate of Cremation.

We’ll contact you beforehand with the delivery date, so you know when to expect them. If that day doesn’t suit, call us on 0489 271 267 and we’ll work something out.

Which urn size do I need for my dog or cat?

The right urn depends on your pet’s weight. Our urns are sized for pets up to 5kg, 5 to 20kg, 20 to 35kg, 35 to 50kg and over 50kg. Most cats, rabbits and small dogs fit the smallest size, a Labrador commonly fits the 20 to 35kg size, and larger breeds move into the sizes above.

You do not have to calculate this yourself. Give us your pet’s approximate weight when booking and we will match an urn from your selected collection.

Can I scatter my pet’s ashes?

By default, your pet’s urn is sealed, but tell us if you want to scatter the ashes and we can provide an unsealed urn or return them in a scatter tube. The Private Farewell package includes a scatter tube instead of an urn.

Some families remember their pet during a gentle walk through Wahroonga Park before choosing a garden or another favourite place for scattering. Scattering on your own property is generally fine, while public land requires checking with the local council or landholder first.

Are your cremation services private?

Always. We guarantee individual private pet cremation for every pet collected in Wahroonga. Your pet is cremated alone in a single chamber, and you receive only their ashes, never ashes mixed or shared with other animals.

We do not provide communal or group cremation. Every package, beginning with the $540 Private Farewell, is a fully private cremation with a Certificate of Cremation confirming it.

How do I know it’s my pet’s ashes?

Your pet is tracked from the moment they enter our care. They receive a unique tracking tag at collection, which our staff check repeatedly at every stage, from the van to the crematorium and back to your door.

Your pet’s ashes are returned with their tracking ID and Certificate of Cremation. As every cremation is individual, the ashes belong to your pet alone.

Who is Buddy?

Buddy are the service providers who carry out your pet’s cremation. After booking, you receive updates from them as your pet moves through each stage.

You can still contact our team at any time throughout the process, before or after pickup, on 0489 271 267. We stay your point of contact from booking right through to the return of your pet’s ashes.

Does pet insurance cover cremation?

Some pet insurance policies provide a cremation or end-of-life benefit, while others do not. It depends on your insurer and level of cover, so check your product disclosure statement or contact your insurer before booking if you intend to claim.

When your policy covers cremation, we can provide a payment receipt and Certificate of Cremation to support your claim.
