What should I do if my pet dies at home?

Take a moment before doing anything, as there is no need to hurry. Can I scatter my pet’s ashes?

By default, your pet’s urn is sealed, but we can provide an unsealed urn or return the ashes in a scatter tube if you plan to scatter them. The Private Farewell package includes a scatter tube rather than an urn.

Some Rockdale families remember their pet with a walk at Rockdale Bicentennial Park before choosing a garden or another favourite place for the ashes. Scattering on your own property is generally fine, but check with the local council or landholder before using parks, beaches or other public land.
