Pet Cremation Merrylands | Private Dog & Cat Cremation

How much does pet cremation cost in Merrylands?

Private pet cremation in Merrylands starts from $540 with our Private Farewell package, which returns your pet’s ashes in a scatter tube. The Gesture costs $790 and includes an urn plus a fur keepsake, The Memory is $890 with an urn, framed paw print and daily keepsake, and The Legacy is $1,190 with an urn, 2 keepsakes and a premium keepsake.

Every package includes collection from your Merrylands home or vet, an individual private cremation, a Certificate of Cremation and hand delivery of the ashes within 10 business days. The only additional costs are the after-hours, weekend and over-50kg fees listed later on this page, so the booking price is the amount you pay.

How much does it cost to cremate a dog in Merrylands?

Dog cremation in Merrylands costs the same as cremation for any other pet, starting at $540 for a private cremation with ashes returned in a scatter tube, or $790 to $1,190 with an urn and keepsakes. Small, medium and large dogs cost the same up to 50kg.

For larger breeds over 50kg, including Great Danes, Mastiffs and some Rottweilers, a 20% surcharge applies to the package price. Dogs are accepted up to 100kg. Pickup from your Merrylands home or vet is included, and your dog is cremated individually, never alongside other animals.

How much is cat cremation in Merrylands?

Cat cremation in Merrylands starts from $540. This includes collection from your home or vet, a private individual cremation, a Certificate of Cremation and your cat’s ashes returned within 10 business days. Families selecting an urn for a cat often choose The Gesture ($790) or The Memory ($890), which include a fur keepsake or framed paw print.

Cats almost always fit our smallest urn size, up to 5kg, so no size surcharge applies. We collect cats from homes and veterinary clinics across Merrylands and the surrounding suburbs, using the same process as for dogs.

Are there any additional fees?

Your chosen package includes everything, including pickup and return of the ashes. There are only 3 additional charges, and we explain them before you confirm your booking:

After-hours fee (Monday to Friday, before 9am or after 5pm): +$165
Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and public holidays: +$250
Pets over 50kg: a 20% surcharge on the package price

If you book an after-hours collection, we may not be able to come until the next day, depending on which drivers are available in the Merrylands area. Either way, our team will contact you to confirm a pickup time, so you won’t be left waiting without knowing when we’ll arrive.

What should I do if my pet dies at home?

Take a moment and do not feel pressured to act immediately. When you are ready, place your dog or cat on their side on a towel or blanket, gently close their eyes and position their legs naturally in a curled pose. Do this within the first couple of hours, before stiffness develops. Put an old towel underneath because some fluid release is normal, and keep them cool and out of direct sunlight.

Then book online or call us on 0489 271 267. In Merrylands we collect from your home within 24 hours, and same day if you book before 2pm on a business day. If other pets in the house want to sniff or sit with them before pickup, that’s fine and can help them understand.

How quickly can you collect my pet in Merrylands?

Collection is guaranteed anywhere in Merrylands and the surrounding suburbs within 24 hours of booking confirmation. Book before 2pm on a business day and we can usually collect the same day during business hours at no extra cost. Bookings after 2pm are arranged for the next available collection.

We send a notification 30 minutes before the driver arrives. Your pet travels in a van prepared with flowers, greenery and a soft bed. After-hours or weekend pickups attract the fees listed above, and we will call to confirm the time.

Can you pick up my dog or cat from a vet in Merrylands?

Yes. Many Merrylands families say goodbye at the vet, and we collect from any veterinary clinic in Merrylands and surrounding suburbs, including Granville, Parramatta, Guildford, Westmead, Northmead, Auburn, and Greystanes.

Provide the clinic name during booking and we will organise collection directly with the vet, meaning you do not need to transport your pet. Vet collection is included in every package at no extra cost, and your pet receives a tracking tag as soon as they enter our care.

Do you offer cremation for all pets in Merrylands?

We cremate domestic pets from Merrylands homes and veterinary clinics, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, ferrets, reptiles and other small animals. Pets are accepted up to 100kg. Horses and other livestock cannot be cremated.

Every pet gets the same private cremation, the same tracking and the same Certificate of Cremation, whatever their size. The price is the same for a dog, cat, rabbit or bird, with a 20% surcharge only for pets over 50kg. If you’re unsure whether we can help with your pet, call us on 0489 271 267 and we’ll talk it through.

Can you cremate a rabbit, guinea pig or bird from Merrylands?

We provide small animal cremation throughout Merrylands. Rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, rats, mice and lizards are each cremated alone in one chamber, ensuring only your pet’s ashes are returned.

As small pets produce less ash, many families select a small urn from The Gesture or The Memory collection, or choose a keepsake for the home. Collection from your home or vet works just as it does for a dog or cat, and prices start from the same $540.

Is there a size limit for large dog cremation in Merrylands?

Pets are accepted up to 100kg, covering almost every dog breed. Large breeds up to 50kg receive the standard package price. For pets from 50kg to 100kg, a 20% surcharge is added to the package price for the extra handling and cremation time.

Our drivers move large dogs gently from homes and clinics in Merrylands. Give us your dog’s approximate weight when booking so we can prepare for collection and explain any surcharge upfront.

How soon will I get my pet’s ashes back?

Your pet’s ashes are returned within 10 business days, well ahead of the 3-week industry average. Our team hand-delivers them to your Merrylands home in your selected urn or scatter tube, with any keepsakes, the tracking ID and Certificate of Cremation.

We’ll contact you beforehand with the delivery date, so you know when to expect them. If that day doesn’t suit, call us on 0489 271 267 and we’ll work something out.

Which urn size do I need for my dog or cat?

The appropriate urn depends on your pet’s weight. Sizes are available for pets up to 5kg, 5 to 20kg, 20 to 35kg, 35 to 50kg and over 50kg. Most cats, rabbits and small dogs fit the smallest size, a Labrador generally falls within 20 to 35kg, and larger breeds use the sizes above that.

You do not have to calculate this yourself. Tell us your pet’s approximate weight during booking and we will select the suitable urn from your chosen collection.

Can I scatter my pet’s ashes?

We seal your pet’s urn by default, but you can request an unsealed urn or have the ashes returned in a scatter tube if you plan to scatter them. The Private Farewell package includes a scatter tube instead of an urn.

Some Merrylands families remember their pets during gentle walks at Holroyd Gardens or Lawson Square, while choosing a garden or another favourite place for scattering. Scattering on your own property is generally fine, but check with the local council or landholder before using parks, beaches or other public land.

Are your cremation services private?

Always. We guarantee an individual private cremation for every pet collected in Merrylands. Your pet is cremated alone in a single chamber, and only their ashes are returned, never ashes mixed or shared with other animals.

Communal and group cremation are not offered. Every package, from the $540 Private Farewell onwards, is a fully private cremation with a Certificate of Cremation confirming it.

How do I know it’s my pet’s ashes?

Your pet is tracked from the moment they enter our care. They receive a unique tracking tag at collection, and our staff check it repeatedly at every stage, from the vehicle to the crematorium and back to your door.

Your pet’s ashes come back with their tracking ID and Certificate of Cremation. Since each cremation is individual, the ashes belong only to your pet.

Who is Buddy?

Buddy carries out your pet’s cremation. After booking, you receive notifications from Buddy with updates as your pet moves through each stage.

You can still contact our team at any time throughout the process, before or after pickup, on 0489 271 267. We stay your point of contact from booking right through to the return of your pet’s ashes.

Does pet insurance cover cremation?

Some pet insurance policies provide a cremation or end-of-life benefit, while others do not. Coverage depends on your insurer and level of cover, so review your product disclosure statement or contact your insurer before booking if you intend to make a claim.

When your policy covers cremation, we can provide a copy of your payment receipt and Certificate of Cremation to support the claim.

Which suburbs around Merrylands do you cover?

We provide pet collection services in Merrylands and surrounding suburbs, including Granville, Parramatta, Guildford, Westmead, Northmead, Auburn, and Greystanes.

Every package includes pickup from your home or vet throughout Merrylands, Merrylands West and the surrounding suburbs. If you are just outside these areas, call 0489 271 267 and we will let you know straight away.
