The package price includes everything, including pickup and return of the ashes. There are only 3 extra charges, and we will explain them before you confirm your booking:

Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and public holidays: +$250
Pets over 50kg: a 20% surcharge on the package price

What should I do if my pet dies at home?

Take a moment and do not feel you need to hurry. When you are ready, place your dog or cat on their side on a towel or blanket, gently close their eyes and position their legs naturally in a curled pose. Do this within the first couple of hours, before stiffness develops. Put an old towel beneath them because some fluid release is normal, and keep them cool and out of direct sunlight.

The right urn depends on your pet’s weight. Sizes are available for pets up to 5kg, 5 to 20kg, 20 to 35kg, 35 to 50kg and over 50kg. Most cats, rabbits and small dogs use the smallest size, a Labrador generally falls within 20 to 35kg, and larger breeds require the sizes above it.

You do not have to calculate this yourself. Give us your pet’s approximate weight when booking and we will match an urn from your selected collection.

Can I scatter my pet’s ashes?

Your pet’s urn is sealed by default, but tell us if you want to scatter the ashes and we can provide an unsealed urn or return them in a scatter tube. The Private Farewell package includes a scatter tube rather than an urn.

Some Kensington families remember their pet with a gentle walk through Kensington Park before choosing a garden or favourite place for the ashes. Scattering on your own property is generally fine, while public land requires permission from the local council or landholder first.

Your pet is tracked from the moment they enter our care. They receive a unique tracking tag at collection, which our team checks repeatedly at every stage, from the vehicle to the crematorium and back to your door.

The ashes are returned with your pet’s tracking ID and Certificate of Cremation. As every cremation is individual, the ashes belong only to your pet.

Who is Buddy?

Buddy are the service providers who carry out your pet’s cremation. After booking, they send notifications with updates as your pet progresses through each stage.

Does pet insurance cover cremation?

Some pet insurance policies provide a cremation or end-of-life benefit, while others do not. Cover depends on your insurer and policy level, so review your product disclosure statement or speak with your insurer before booking if you intend to claim.

When your policy covers cremation, we can provide your payment receipt and Certificate of Cremation to support the claim.
