What should I do if my pet dies at home?

Take a moment before doing anything. You do not need to hurry. Do this within the first couple of hours, before stiffness begins. Put an old towel beneath them because some fluid release is normal, and keep them cool and out of direct sunlight.

Can I scatter my pet’s ashes?

Yes. We normally seal your pet’s urn, but you can request an unsealed urn or have the ashes returned in a scatter tube if you plan to scatter them. The Private Farewell package includes a scatter tube rather than an urn.

Some families remember their pet while walking through Nurragingy Reserve, then choose a garden or another favourite place for scattering. Scattering on your own property is generally fine, but check with the local council or landholder before using parks, beaches or other public land.

Are your cremation services private?

Always. We guarantee an individual private cremation for every pet collected in Doonside. Your pet is cremated alone in a single chamber, and only their ashes are returned, never ashes mixed or shared with other animals.

Communal and group cremation are not offered. Every package, starting with the $540 Private Farewell, is a fully private cremation and includes a Certificate of Cremation confirming this.

Your pet is tracked from the moment they enter our care. A unique tracking tag is attached at collection, and our staff check it throughout every stage, from the van to the crematorium and back to your door.

The ashes are returned with your pet’s tracking ID and Certificate of Cremation. Since each cremation is individual, the ashes belong only to your pet.

Who is Buddy?

Buddy is the service provider that carries out your pet’s cremation. After booking, Buddy sends notifications with updates as your pet moves through each stage.

Does pet insurance cover cremation?
