Pet Cremation Auburn | Private Dog & Cat Cremation

What does pet cremation cost in Auburn?

Private pet cremation in Auburn starts from $540 with our Private Farewell package, which returns your pet’s ashes in a scatter tube. For an urn and keepsakes, The Gesture costs $790 and includes an urn plus a fur keepsake, The Memory is $890 and includes an urn, framed paw print and daily keepsake, and The Legacy is $1,190 with an urn, 2 keepsakes and a premium keepsake.

Every package includes collection from your Auburn home or vet, a private individual cremation, a Certificate of Cremation and hand delivery of the ashes within 10 business days. The only extras are the after-hours, weekend and over-50kg fees listed later on this page, so the booking price is the amount you pay.

How much does it cost to cremate a dog in Auburn?

Dog cremation in Auburn costs the same as cremation for any other pet, starting from $540 for a private cremation with ashes returned in a scatter tube, or $790 to $1,190 with an urn and keepsakes. Dogs of small, medium or large size cost the same up to 50kg.

For dogs over 50kg, including Great Danes, Mastiffs and some Rottweilers, a 20% surcharge is added to the package price. Dogs up to 100kg are accepted. Collection from your Auburn home or vet is included, and your dog is cremated alone, never with other animals.

How much does cat cremation cost in Auburn?

Cat cremation in Auburn starts from $540. This includes collection from your home or vet, a private individual cremation, a Certificate of Cremation and your cat’s ashes returned within 10 business days. Families choosing an urn for a cat often select The Gesture ($790) or The Memory ($890), which include a fur keepsake or framed paw print.

Most cats fit our smallest urn size, up to 5kg, so a size surcharge is not usually needed. We collect cats from homes and veterinary clinics throughout Auburn and the surrounding suburbs, using the same process as for dogs.

Do any additional fees apply?

Your chosen package includes everything, including collection and return of the ashes. There are only 3 additional charges, and we will explain them before you confirm your booking:

After-hours fee (Monday to Friday, before 9am or after 5pm): +$165
Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and public holidays: +$250
Pets over 50kg: a 20% surcharge on the package price

If you book an after-hours collection, we may not be able to come until the next day, depending on which drivers are available in the Auburn area. Either way, our team will contact you to confirm a pickup time, so you won’t be left waiting without knowing when we’ll arrive.

What should I do when my pet dies at home?

Take some time first and do not feel pressured to act immediately. When you are ready, place your dog or cat on their side on a towel or blanket, gently close their eyes and draw their legs into a natural curled position. Do this within the first couple of hours, before stiffness develops. Put an old towel underneath because some fluid release is normal, and keep them cool and away from direct sunlight.

Then book online or call us on 0489 271 267. In Auburn we collect from your home within 24 hours, and same day if you book before 2pm on a business day. If other pets in the house want to sniff or sit with them before pickup, that’s fine and can help them understand.

How soon can my pet be collected in Auburn?

We guarantee collection throughout Auburn and the surrounding suburbs within 24 hours of booking confirmation. Book before 2pm on a business day and we can usually collect that day during business hours at no additional cost. Bookings after 2pm are arranged for the next available collection.

A 30-minute arrival notification is sent before our driver reaches you. Your pet travels in a van prepared with flowers, greenery and a soft bed. After-hours or weekend collections attract the fees above, and we will call to confirm the time.

Can you collect my dog or cat from a vet in Auburn?

Yes. Many Auburn families say goodbye at the vet, and we collect from any veterinary clinic in Auburn and surrounding suburbs, including Lidcombe, Granville, Guildford, Merrylands, Chester Hill, Parramatta, and Strathfield.

Provide the clinic name when booking and we will coordinate collection directly with the vet, so you do not have to transport your pet. Vet collection is included in every package at no extra cost, and your pet receives a tracking tag as soon as they come into our care.

Can you cremate every type of pet in Auburn?

We cremate domestic pets from Auburn homes and vets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, ferrets, reptiles and other small animals. Pets up to 100kg are accepted. Horses and other livestock cannot be cremated.

Every pet gets the same private cremation, the same tracking and the same Certificate of Cremation, whatever their size. The price is the same for a dog, cat, rabbit or bird, with a 20% surcharge only for pets over 50kg. If you’re unsure whether we can help with your pet, call us on 0489 271 267 and we’ll talk it through.

Can you cremate a rabbit, guinea pig or bird from Auburn?

We provide small animal cremation throughout Auburn. Rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, rats, mice and lizards are each cremated individually in one chamber, so only your pet’s ashes are returned.

Small pets produce less ash, so many families choose a small urn from The Gesture or The Memory collection, or a keepsake for the home. Collection from your home or vet works the same way as it does for dogs and cats, with prices starting from the same $540.

Is there a weight limit for large dog cremation in Auburn?

Pets up to 100kg are accepted, covering almost every dog breed. Large dogs up to 50kg receive the standard package price, while dogs from 50kg to 100kg incur a 20% surcharge on the package price for additional handling and cremation time.

Our drivers handle large dogs gently when collecting from a home or clinic in Auburn. Give us your dog’s approximate weight when booking so we can prepare for collection and explain any surcharge upfront.

When will my pet’s ashes be returned?

Your pet’s ashes are returned within 10 business days, well before the 3-week industry average. Our team hand-delivers them to your Auburn home in your selected urn or scatter tube, along with any keepsakes, the tracking ID and Certificate of Cremation.

We’ll contact you beforehand with the delivery date, so you know when to expect them. If that day doesn’t suit, call us on 0489 271 267 and we’ll work something out.

What urn size does my dog or cat need?

The right urn depends on your pet’s weight. We have sizes for pets up to 5kg, 5 to 20kg, 20 to 35kg, 35 to 50kg and over 50kg. Most cats, rabbits and small dogs use the smallest size, a Labrador generally fits 20 to 35kg, and larger breeds require the sizes above that.

You do not have to decide this alone. Tell us your pet’s approximate weight when booking and we will match an urn from the collection you select.

Can I scatter my pet’s ashes?

Your pet’s urn is sealed by default, but we can provide an unsealed urn or return the ashes in a scatter tube if you would like to scatter them. The Private Farewell package includes a scatter tube instead of an urn.

Some Auburn families remember their pet with a favourite walk beside Duck River at Auburn Botanic Gardens, while others choose a garden or another special place. Scattering on your own property is generally fine, but check with the local council or landholder before using parks, beaches or other public land.

Are your cremations private?

Always. We guarantee an individual private cremation for every pet collected in Auburn. Your pet is cremated alone in a single chamber, and only their ashes are returned, never ashes mixed or shared with other animals.

We do not provide communal or group cremation. Every package, starting with the $540 Private Farewell, is a completely private cremation and includes a Certificate of Cremation confirming this.

How can I be sure the ashes belong to my pet?

Your pet is tracked from the moment they enter our care. A unique tracking tag is attached at collection, and our team checks it repeatedly at every stage, from the vehicle to the crematorium and back to your home.

The tracking ID and Certificate of Cremation are returned with your pet’s ashes. Since every cremation is individual, the ashes belong only to your pet.

Who is Buddy?

Buddy carries out your pet’s cremation. After booking, you receive updates from them as your pet progresses through each stage.

You can still contact our team at any time throughout the process, before or after pickup, on 0489 271 267. We stay your point of contact from booking right through to the return of your pet’s ashes.

Will pet insurance pay for cremation?

Some pet insurance policies include cremation or end-of-life cover, while others do not. This depends on your insurer and level of cover, so check your product disclosure statement or speak with your insurer before booking if you intend to claim.

When your policy covers cremation, we can provide your payment receipt and Certificate of Cremation to support the claim.
